PURPOSE:
To consider the transfer of $200,000.00 from the Victim Assistance Fund-206 to the Grant Fund in Cost Center 67510 Human Services- Fund 250
NEED/IMPACT:
In the County’s 2025 Adopted budget, $200,000.00 was approved for State Certified Victim Assistance non-profit agencies and $150,000.00 of this amount has been designated for a contract with Women’s Resource Center (dba Women Moving On, Inc.), to provide specialized crisis intervention services to women and their children. The balance of $50,000.00 will be allocated to the other non-profits that provide domestic violence services for DeKalb residents that experience domestic violence. The Human Services Department has identified nine (9) local non-profits that have State Certification to provide services and support to victims of domestic violence. The grant period for all grants will be for one year from the date of BOC approval. The transfer of funds from the Victim Assistance Fund to the Human Services Grant Fund will help avoid the delay of payment to these non-profit agencies which provide such critical services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact-as this action only transfers already appropriated funds. The transfer, once approved, will move funds from the Victim Assistance Fund-Accounting String 03101-611250-206 to the Grant Fund in Cost Center 67510 Human Services-Fund 205.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Transfer $200,000 from the Victim Assistance Fund 206 to the Grant Fund in Cost Center 67510 Human Services Fund-250; Approve the contract between DeKalb County and Women Moving On, Inc. for the provision of domestic violence intervention and advocacy services, in an amount not to exceed $150,000; Approve the transfer of funds from the Victim Assistance Fund to the Grant Fund; and Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
