NEED/IMPACT:

Leadership DeKalb, Inc. is our “leadership training” mechanism featured to focus on educating and training the participants of its programs in community, business, and political leadership skills and awareness, and to provide a platform to discuss, develop, research, pursue and address issues and projects that will promote the general social, economic and political welfare of DeKalb County, Georgia. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are values that help create fairer, more accessible workplaces that support individuals of different ethnicities, religions, abilities, races, sexual orientations, gender, political perspectives, and backgrounds which results in a more inclusive workplace that we hope inspires continued growth and awareness that has the capacity to influence our respective circles and community.

This District 6 appropriation helps to support DeKalb’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion morning program, as well as Leadership DeKalb, DEI, and importantly how DeKalb County is progressively addressing and improving racial equity inclusion, environmental justice and sustainability initiatives that engage DeKalb County to be more equitable and sustainable today and in the future.
