PURPOSE:
Seeks approval to amend the existing contract with Brown Wrecker Service, Inc. dba Brown & Brown Wrecker Service, S&W Services of Atlanta, Inc., South DeKalb Towing and Transport, Inc., and Statewide Wrecker Service South, Inc., to account for newly imposed administrative fees mandated by the State of Georgia. These fees impact the cost structure related to the towing, removal, storage, and impoundment of vehicles. This amendment ensures continued compliance with state regulations while maintaining uninterrupted service across the six (6) DeKalb County service areas.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Towing & Wrecker services provide removal, storage, and impoundment of wrecked and disabled vehicles for private citizens in six (6) DeKalb County service areas and includes towing services for County-owned vehicles. These contracts are on-call and provide for the remittance of an administrative fee back to the County per tow except for DeKalb County vehicles. The fees established for tows have been calculated to reflect expenses in compliance with the provisions of O.C.G.A 40-11, Article 1A and 2.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no cost to the County.

Recommended Action
To approve the amendment to the existing contract with Brown Wrecker Service, Inc. dba Brown & Brown Wrecker Service, S&W Services of Atlanta, Inc., South DeKalb Towing and Transport, Inc., and Statewide Wrecker Service South, Inc., to account for newly imposed administrative fees mandated by the State of Georgia. To approve the amendment resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
