PURPOSE:

To consider acceptance of WIOA Grants not to exceed $2,863,013. for employment and training activities for Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth eligible participants for Program Year 2026 (April 1, 2026- June 30, 2028).

 

NEED/IMPACT:

We received a projection from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) for Program Year 2026 awards for Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth program funds. This pre-approval will permit expeditious handling of grant funding for programs to ensure continuous service to DeKalb County clients for employment and training services. The grant projection for the Adult program is $871,602 (Advance allotment is $697,282, Base allotment is $174,320). The grant projection for the Dislocated Worker Program is $1,029.001 (Advance allotment is $807,716, Base allotment is $221,285).  The grant projection for the Youth Program is $962,410.

 

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides funding for Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth participants for employment and training activities. These funds will be used to provide citizens of DeKalb County with job search assistance, labor market information, occupational trend information, resume preparation, and assistance in identifying employment opportunities available through both online and direct job sites. In addition, funding will be used to provide interest and aptitude assessments and occupational skills training opportunities for WIOA eligible customers. No funds have been received or expended and no workforce activities are being conducted for the above-mentioned grants.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No impact to County funds. 100% Federal Funds - U.S. Department of Labor; no matching funds required
