PURPOSE:

Awarded by the BOC on April 28, 2020, for an amount not to exceed $181,000.00.  On December 14, 2021, the BOC approved Change Order No.1 for an amount not to exceed $639,000.00 to add funding to the contract for the balance of the five (5) year term. The original award was funded for only one (1) year of the five (5) year term.  This contract consists of the inspection, care, maintenance and cleaning of personal protective equipment which includes coats (shell and liner), pants (shell and liner), helmets, firefighting gloves, and firefighting boots.  The services ensure compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1851 Regulations established for care and maintenance of structural firefighting gear to increase safety and reduce physical health risks and biohazards encountered.  This request seeks to increase contract funds and contract term through October 27, 2025.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

Recommend approval of Change Order No. 2 with:

Amount Not To Exceed: $338,000.00

 

and authorize Chief Executive Office to execute the change order and all associated documents.
