PURPOSE:
To allocate an amount of $3,000.00 from the 2025 District 6 Reserve for Appropriation account to support an opportunity for DeKalb County citizens to experience the diversity and opportunity to enhance their lives through music presented by the DeKalb Symphony.
NEED/IMPACT:
The benefits of a local symphony extend far beyond the performance of music. And for the past 60 years, the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra has focused on enhancing the lives’ of our constituents. They contribute to the overall quality of life in the community by providing a sense of civic pride, fostering creativity, and enhancing the educational experience for children, youth, and all who choose to explore this genre of music. This $3000.00 is a split and shared allocation with District 2 to total $6,000.00. This funding will help augment the costs associated with presenting this concert on May 20th to the citizens of DeKalb County at no charge.

Decrease appropriations for the following account by the amount indicated below:

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the allocation of $3,000.00 from the 2025 District 6 Reserve for Appropriation account to the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra and authorize the Chief Executive Officer or her designee to execute all necessary documents to release payment.
