PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for the adjustment and additional installation of water and sewer facilities improvements associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute agreement that will allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction:
• PI No. 0002868 adjustments/additional installations of utility facilities as reconstruct of a Diverging Diamond Interchange Panola Road @ I-20 FROM Fairington Rd. TO Snapfinger Woods Dr. in DeKalb County - Estimated $4,220,926.66
NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT projects P.I. No. 0002868 adjustments/additional installations of utility facilities as reconstruct of a Diverging Diamond Interchange Panola Road @ I-20 FROM Fairington Rd. TO Snapfinger Woods Dr. in DeKalb County, Georgia. The Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work or need to be replaced due to age. Therefore, the County entered into a Contact Item Agreement with GDOT to include adjustments/additional installations for PI No. 0002868 adjustments/additional installations of utility facilities as reconstruct of a Diverging Diamond Interchange Panola Road @ I-20 FROM Fairington Rd. TO Snapfinger Woods Dr. in DeKalb County reconstruction project to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing the work; the exact payment amount will be based on unit bid prices.
