PURPOSE:
To approve the allocation of $20,000 from the 2024 District 2 Youth Reserve for Appropriation to the DeKalb County Office of Youth Services for a Healthcare Fair at Plaza Fiesta.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Office of Youth Services is proud to introduce our Cluster Model Healthcare Fair initiative, a targeted effort to address the critical healthcare needs of children in DeKalb County. Leveraging United Way’s Child Wellbeing Data, this initiative focuses on communities with the highest rates of children without health insurance. The Healthcare Fair will offer comprehensive health screenings, educational resources, and connections to essential services, all aimed at improving the wellbeing of our most vulnerable youth. By bringing together local healthcare providers, community partners, and government resources, the Cluster Model Healthcare Fair is crucial in ensuring that every child in DeKalb County has access to the healthcare they deserve.
