PURPOSE:
To approve a contract with Leadership DeKalb to educate community leaders and DeKalb County employees and strengthen leadership and management skills
NEED/IMPACT:
Leadership DeKalb is a respected leadership development program in DeKalb County that educates community leaders and addresses issues facing the growing population. Leadership DeKalb convenes and connects leaders, informs them on matters vital to the County and enhances their leadership skills. This strengthened pipeline of talent immerses in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, thereby advancing quality of life in DeKalb County. Additionally, through this contract and partnership, County employees gain access to leadership development programs, including a tuition waiver and discounts. This investment not only enhances the County workforce’s capacity for efficient, innovative service delivery but also benefits residents by improving government responsiveness, fostering community collaboration, and promoting long-term organizational excellence and civic engagement across DeKalb County. This will provide a substantial benefit to the County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
An amount not to exceed $300,000.00 from a source to be identified by the Governing Authority. The total not to exceed amount shall be allocated as follows:
2026: an amount not to exceed $100,000.00
2027: an amount not to exceed $100,000.00
2028: an amount not to exceed $100,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve a contract with Leadership DeKalb in an amount not to exceed $300,000.00 and authorize the Chief Executive Officer or her designee to execute all necessary documents in a final form acceptable to the County Attorney or his designee.
