PURPOSE:
Record the resignation of Robert Murphy from the District 3 Community Council Board and record the appointment of Amy Fields-Taylor to the District 3 Community Council Board. Amy Fields-Taylor will replace Robert Murphy, who resigned at the end of 2024. The appointment will continue at the pleasure of Commissioner Terry.
NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb County Community Councils review applications for rezoning, land use plan amendments, special land use permits, and text amendments, and report their recommendations to the DeKalb County Planning Commission. Pursuant to the Zoning Code of DeKalb County, the Super District Commissioners shall appoint 4 members to each District Community Council Board. Community council members serve at the pleasure of the commissioner making their appointment or until a successor is appointed and qualified.
Amy Fields-Taylor will replace Robert Murphy. Commissioner Terry thanks Mr. Murphy for his dedication and service. Ms. Fields-Taylor has served her District 3 community in a number of advocacy capacities, and Commissioner Terry is pleased that she has accepted his request to serve on the District 3 Community Council Board. Commissioner Terry is confident that Ms. Field-Taylor’s leadership and commitment will be a wonderful asset to the District 3 Community Council Board, the DeKalb County Planning Commission, and the citizens represented.
