PURPOSE:
To confirm the appointment of Mr. Sai Reddy to the Decide DeKalb Development Authority of DeKalb County, the Private Hospital Authority, and the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority. This appointment is for Post 4, effective immediately upon the appointee’s signing of the oath of office, and will expire December 31st, 2018 for the Development Authority and the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority, and will expire on December 31st, 2020 for the Private Hospital Authority. Mr. Reddy will fill the post currently held by Mr. Tyrone Rachal who has extended his resignation from the Board; and

NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Decide DeKalb Development Authority is to develop and promote commerce, industry and employment opportunities for the public good and general welfare of DeKalb County. It is imperative that the membership of the Development Authority of DeKalb County is enhanced with executives and leaders of DeKalb County so that this Authority’s purposes are effectively maintained and managed.

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Approve the appointment of the recommended nominee to the Decide DeKalb Development Authority of DeKalb County, the Private Hospital Authority, and the Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority. Resume for the nominee is attached.
NOTES:
Post numbers do not relate to Commission Districts.
All appointments to the Development Authority are 13A appointments.
All term end dates are December 31st in order to keep the terms of all post staggered, clarify the term dates and allow concurrent appointments to all three authorities.
Appointees serve until successors are appointed and resignation or removal from the Development Authority is a simultaneous and automatic removal from the other two authorities.
