PURPOSE:

FFT is a short-term, high-quality intervention program that works primarily with 11 to 18-year-old youths who have been referred for behavioral or emotional problems by the juvenile justice, mental health, school, or child welfare systems. This includes providing intensive treatment to youths with chronic, persistent delinquency who are at risk for out of home placement. The frequency of sessions can be adjusted based on clinical needs, allowing the service to be responsive to periods of crisis or high risk and to decrease the intensity for families with lower levels of need. TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment model for children and adolescents (ages 3-18) who have experienced trauma, including abuse, neglect, and exposure to violence. The model incorporates cognitive-behavioral, family, and trauma-sensitive principles to help youth process trauma, manage distressing thoughts and behaviors, and improve coping and functioning. Research has shown TF-CBT to significantly reduce symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and behavioral problems. Caregivers also benefit from improved parenting skills and reduced distress. Five (5) bids were received.
