Lease Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 15-801194 with Peachtree Aviation, Inc.  There is no cost to the County.

PURPOSE:

To consider approval of Lease Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 15-801194 with Peachtree Aviation, Inc.; and

To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The County executed County Contract No. 15-801194 with Peachtree Aviation, Inc., on June 19, 2015.  The lease contains one prior amendment.  Lease Amendment No. 2 was negotiated in accordance with the DeKalb County Code and accomplishes the following in part:

                     Includes a current survey of Tract 1 (2021 Flightway Drive).

                     Allows a rent credit in return for capital improvements to the leased ground and improvements in the amount to $395,215.00.

 

Approving Lease Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. No. 15-801194 will benefit the County and the Airport and inure to the public interest as follows:

                     Improved hangar space and the apron slab addition will enable Lessee to attract additional users which will add revenue to the County.

                     Additional users will increase the amount of fuel and sales tax paid to the County.

 

The County Attorney has reviewed the document and approved it as to form pending Governing Authority approval.

 

The proposed Lease Amendment was briefed to the Airport Advisory Board (AAB) on December 9, 2024,

and a motion to recommend approval of the lease amendment unanimously passed.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This is a revenue generating Lease Agreement.  There is no cost to the County.
