PURPOSE:
MedCura Health, Inc. has been engaged to expand access to preventive healthcare throughout DeKalb County. The scope of services primarily includes, but is not limited to, the purchase, equipping, deployment, and operation of a countywide mobile healthcare unit serving underserved communities; expansion of maternal healthcare services, including women’s health, prenatal care, postpartum care, and family planning; and renovation and development of an additional community healthcare access site to accommodate expanded pediatric and prenatal healthcare services. The services also include: 1) providing family medicine and pediatric services through the mobile healthcare unit; 2) increasing provider capacity and support staff to serve high-risk and underserved expectant mothers; 3) renovating and establishing an expanded community healthcare access point to provide family medicine and pediatric services; and 4) providing quarterly reporting on program activities, expenditures, patients served, outcomes, and progress toward the goals of the Agreement.
NEED/IMPACT:
These healthcare expansion and community-based services will allow MedCura Health, Inc. to assist the County in expanding access to preventive healthcare, increasing healthcare availability in underserved communities, improving maternal and infant health outcomes, expanding pediatric capacity, reducing barriers to care, and advancing health equity throughout DeKalb County.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Not to Exceed: $1,400,000.00
Funding for the Services is authorized pursuant to the approval of the Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Budget Resolution.

To Approve an Appropriation to MedCura Health, Inc. at 5582 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30083, for an amount not to exceed $1,400,000.00 and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the contract and all associated documents in a form acceptable to the County Attorney.
