PURPOSE:

To consider adopting the attached resolution declaring 6 vacant county owned properties in unincorporated DeKalb County as surplus and authorizing for sale to the highest bidder.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

To consider declaring 6 vacant county owned properties listed below as surplus and dispose of the properties in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 36-9-3, at fair market value, determined by an appraisal. Staff from user departments have reviewed the properties and have determined that it is in the best interest of the public to declare the properties as surplus and sell the properties after due notice has been given through the established advertising and sealed bid process managed by the Purchasing and Contracting Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No cost to the County. Funds received from the sealed bid sales will be directed to the general fund. Properties will return to the tax rolls and reduce property preservation expenses.

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
