PURPOSE:
To consider acceptance of WIOA Grants not to exceed $3,032,529 for employment and training activities for Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth eligible participants for Program Year 2025 (July 1, 2025- June 30, 2026).

NEED/IMPACT:
We received a projection from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) for Program Year 2025 awards for Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth program funds. This pre-approval will permit expeditious handling of grant funding for programs to ensure continuous service to DeKalb County clients for employment and training services. The grant projection for the Adult program is $836,057 (Advance allotment is $167,211.40, Base allotment is $668,845.60). The grant projection for the Dislocated Worker Program is $1,279,809.00 (Advance allotment is $255,961.80, Base allotment is $1,023,847.20). The grant projection for the Youth Program is $916,663.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides funding for Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth participants for employment and training activities. These funds will be used to provide citizens of DeKalb County with job search assistance, labor market information, occupational trend information, resume preparation, and assistance in identifying employment opportunities available through both online and direct job sites.
