PURPOSE:

*To consider approving a modification to the FY2024 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), increasing the total award amount by $13,000.00, from $276,176.00 to $289,156.00, for the purchase of new equipment (canine replacement); and
*To consider accepting up to $289,156.00 from ONDCP and appropriating this amount to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor’s requirements; and
*To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

ONDCP has provided financial assistance to continue the efforts of the multi-agency taskforce targeting high intensity drug areas in DeKalb County. These funds will be used to purchase supplies and equipment and to pay overtime costs for HIDTA operations.
