PURPOSE:
To consider reserving $100,000 of SPLOST funds from line 1D - Transportation Enhancements for a road diet concept study for North Decatur Road from Clairmont Road to Scott Blvd; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents for completion of this project.
NEED/IMPACT:
The City of Decatur is proposing to implement a road diet on their portion of North Decatur Road. The proposed concept study will better define risks, opportunities, and costs for possibly extending that road diet to the portion of North Decatur Road between Clairmont Road and Scott Blvd that is in unincorporated DeKalb County. Some of the proposed $100,000 of funding may also be used for interim safety improvements on North Decatur Road between Clairmont Road and Scott Blvd.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$100,000 of SPLOST 1D funds will be needed to fund this work.
