PURPOSE:
To consider approving the lease/facilities use agreement between DeKalb County and Women Moving On, Inc. as a DeKalb County Family Protection Center's resident partner for a 1-year period to begin on May 1, 2025, with 4 optional renewal years, expiring on April 30, 2030; and

To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute any necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb County's Family Protection Center (FPC), the first of its kind in the metro-area, was created in 2015, with a mission of harnessing the collaborative strength of each partner and its core mission in one central location for the benefit of DeKalb County citizens who may be victims of family violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Located on the first floor of the Fire and Rescue Headquarters at 1950 West Exchange Place in Tucker, and at approximately 9,000 sq. ft., the FPC is a centralized location that provides the necessary infrastructure to specifically conduct forensic interviews, sexual assault exams, and victim support. Additionally, the FPC provides much needed office space, a conference/meeting room, and victim waiting areas to the current on-site FPC partners, the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy and the International Women's House. The current lease formalizes the Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence (WRC) as a partner, as the WRC has assumed the responsibilities of the now defunct Day League (formerly The DeKalb Rape Crisis Center) which was formerly housed at the FPC.
