Request To Accept Additional Subgrant Award Funds from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for Fiscal Year 2025 for the Benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court (MHHC) in the Amount of $4,000.

PURPOSE:

To accept the technology subgrant funds in the amount of $4,000 awarded by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to the County for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court, which is the county’s adult misdemeanor mental health court.  These funds were added to the already existing award approved by the BOC Agenda Item 2024-0795 on 06/25/24.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The technology funds will be used to continue to support the court’s mission in a collaborative effort with other entities and agencies in the decriminalization of persons living with serious mental illness engaged in the criminal justice system.  Through the efforts of the MMHC, these funds will be used to purchase equipment for the MMHC, to include tablets, printers, and keyboards.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no additional cost to the county to accept the additional funds awarded by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To accept the technology funds in the amount of $4,000 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court.  To authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
