PURPOSE:
To appoint Interim Deputy Fire Chief Winfred Smith II to DeKalb Post 4 of the Region 3 Emergency Medical Services (also referred to as Region Emergency Service Council District III) for a three-year term expiring on June 30, 2029.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Region 3 Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council is “to coordinate, facilitate the improvement of, and maintain a quality EMS system” in the eight (8) counties comprising District III: Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale County. The Council serves as the liaison between the department of Public Health and the regional EMS system. Interim Deputy Chief Smith will replace Fire Battalion Chief Troy Augustin.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
