PURPOSE:
To allocate Youth Violence Prevention Funds to How Big Is Your Dream, Inc. for the Summer Youth Academy of the Arts.
NEED/IMPACT:
The funding allocated is needed to curb violent crime among Youth in DeKalb inclusive of behavioral health and mental health services. The How Big Is Your Dream Academy and Music, Arts, Diversity and Entertainment (M.A.D.E.) offer an exciting and transformative summer experience. Designed for youth ages 10-18, from beginners to advanced performers, the programs provide a dynamic and supportive environment where creativity and ambition are nurtured.
Through a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum led by world-renowned artists and top regional educators, students will gain real-world insight into the many career pathways within music and entertainment. Sessions are designed to deepen understanding in areas such as music technology, visual and performing arts, music theory, and how arts involvement can boost academic success
