PURPOSE:
To consider the abandonment of a portion of a sewer and the entire water easement on 3712 Steward Road, Doraville, Georgia 30340.
NEED/IMPACT:
The owner of the property located at 3712 Stewart Road, Doraville, Georgia has requested that the County abandon any rights associated with a portion of the existing sewer and water easement located on the property.
Staff reviewed the request and determined that the referenced section of the sewer and water infrastructure is no longer utilized to convey wastewater or potable water. The apartment community on the site was abandoned more than ten years ago, at which time the water line ceased operation. Additionally, the current owner has recently completed construction activities that included the abandonment of a portion of the sewer line and the installation of a new manhole to accommodate the building’s revised footprint.

Recommended Action
Approve the attached Easement Abandonment Agreement for 3712 Steward Road, Doraville, Georgia 30340 and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
