PURPOSE:

To allocate $50,000 to Status:Home for housing and wraparound services for low-income and homeless DeKalb County residents affected by HIV/AIDS

NEED/IMPACT:

This allocation will support Status: Home's permanent supportive housing and wraparound services for low-income and homeless DeKalb County residents affected by HIV/AIDS, a population for whom stable housing is a critical determinant of health. Status: Home serves more than 450 individuals annually and provides over 70% of the permanent supportive housing available to its target population, with approximately 45% of its housing and services benefiting DeKalb residents. The requested funding will help sustain housing assistance, case management, healthcare coordination, behavioral health support, rental assistance, and other essential services that improve treatment adherence, increase housing stability, reduce homelessness, and promote long-term self-sufficiency. By addressing both housing and health needs, this investment will improve quality of life for vulnerable residents while reducing reliance on more costly emergency and institutional services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

An allocation not to exceed $50,000 from District 2 American Rescue Plan Interest (00202.582206.100.0000.0000)

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action
