PURPOSE:
To consider accepting and appropriating $625,000.00 from the Atlanta-region Transit Link Authority into a new CIP account to update the 2019 DeKalb County Transit Master Plan; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents for the completion of the project.
NEED/IMPACT:
The ATL selected the DeKalb County Transit Master Plan update to be funded by the FY 2025 Transit Trust Fund. The DeKalb County Master Transit Plan scope of work seeks to define the current and future (25+ year) needs of both transit dependent and choice riders within and traveling to/from the County; define the types of transportation solutions to meet these needs, identify key, economic and community development (including transit-oriented development) opportunities that would be catalyzed by transit infrastructure investments and make recommendations to amend the MARTA Rapid Transit Cooperative Assistance Agreement (RTCAA) to define DeKalb County’s new priority project list.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This grant does not require a local match. This is a companion item for 2026-0814 and will fund the required local match for item 2026-0814. For the plan to proceed, both items need to be adopted.
