PURPOSE:

To obtain approval of an intergovernmental agreement between DeKalb County - Department of Watershed Management and the City of Avondale Estates for payment of final pavement restoration work completed by the City’s contractor, IP Construction.

NEED/IMPACT:

The pavement restoration work was required to repair roadway areas disturbed during Watershed’s infrastructure improvements. Executing this intergovernmental agreement ensures continuity of work and preserves warranty protection by assigning responsibility for the paving restoration to a single contractor.

This approach is appropriate given the shared ownership interest of the County and the City of Avondale Estates in the roadway improvements. It also allows for proper reimbursement to the City while ensuring all affected areas are restored and project closeout requirements are satisfied.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Department of Watershed will reimburse The City of Avondale an amount not to exceed $292,231.74 for paving costs.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between the County and The City of Avondale and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents...
