PURPOSE:

To appropriate ERA 2 funds to two DeKalb County Non- Profit Agencies in the aggregate amount of $5,000,000.     

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The grant funds are to assist DeKalb County residents who are unable to pay rent and/or utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The program will prevent and protect families from evictions by keeping families in their homes; and will reduce/prevent the risk of homelessness and/or home instability.  Payments will be made towards rent and utilities.  Funds will provide financial assistance and relief to eligible households through existing or newly created assistance programs.

Recommended Action

To approve the appropriation of ERA 2 Funds to two DeKalb County Non-Profit Agencies in the aggregate amount of $5,000,000; and authorize the CEO to execute the necessary agreements/document in a form that is acceptable to the County Attorney.
