PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in the amount not to exceed the following listed amount, for the resurfacing and water and sewer installation/adjustments associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute agreement that allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction:

? SR 12 Covington Hwy from SR 10 Mountain Dr to SR 124 Turner Hill Rd total amount of $123,950.00

NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT project M005811 resurface SR 12 Covington Hwy from SR 10 Mountain Dr to SR 124 Turner Hill Rd in DeKalb County, Georgia. The Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work or need to be replaced due to age. Therefore, the County entered into a Contact Item Agreement with GDOT to include water and sewer installations/adjustments for the SR 12 Covington Hwy project to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing the work; the exact payment amount will be based on unit bid prices.
