PURPOSE:

A Resolution Of The Board Of Commissioners Of DeKalb County, Georgia, Directing The Law Department To Initiate The Dissolution Of Obsolete Boards, Commissions, And Authorities, And To Consolidate Sustainability Efforts.

NEED/IMPACT:

A review of the County’s current Boards and Commissions roster reveals the existence of multiple entities that have either completed their statutory mandates, been rendered obsolete by changes in state or federal law, or have been inactive for an extended period. Retaining inactive or obsolete boards in the County Code creates confusion for the public and administrative burden for County staff. This will allow for better organization and clarity of DeKalb County Boards, Commissions, And Authorities.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Unknown at this time.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
