PURPOSE:
The Clerk to Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Commissioners would like the minutes of the Commission to reflect appointments made by individual Commissioners to various boards and authorities. Ben Bell has served as the District 6 Community Council appointee since 2022. He has graciously indicated his interest to serve in this capacity as Commissioner Terry’s District 2 Community Council appointee.
NEED/IMPACT:
Mr. Bell has lived in the District 2/District 6 area for many years and has been a long-time community advocate who understands the nuances around this area and the need to balance affordability, growth, and environmental restraints for both longtime and new residents. Ben Bell continues to bring a plethora of energy and has been an asset to this D2 Community Council. Commissioner Terry is fortunate that he has indicated his intent to continue to serve in this capacity.
Commissioner Terry is prepared to appoint Ben Bell for his 2nd Commission term ending on December 31, 2028, unless such term ends sooner as provided by law.

No financial impact to DeKalb County

Recommended Action
Direct the Clerk to record the re-appointment of Benjamin “Ben” Bell to the District 2 Community Council, appointed by District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry, to fulfill the term ending on December 31, 2028.
