PURPOSE:
Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Brookhaven to enter into a 50-year lease agreement for the property located at 3493 Ashford-Dunwoody Road with an annual rent amount of $1.00 per year during the term for the purpose of constructing and operating a DeKalb County Fire Rescue Station at that location. DeKalb County will fund construction and operate the fire station at that property through the terms of the agreement. Key points of the agreement require DeKalb County Fire Rescue to include a Community Room at the fire station, allow the City of Brookhaven to park one Police vehicle in one apparatus bay, and to construct and operate the new fire station within 5-years of signing.
The Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Brookhaven has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney.
NEED/IMPACT:
The intergovernmental agreement establishes the terms for the use of the property located at 3493 Ashford-Dunwoody Road for the purpose of constructing a new fire station therefore enhancing DeKalb County Fire Rescue’s response capabilities to mitigate incidents.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The sum of $50.00 to be paid in the terms of $1.00 per year of the 50-year lease agreement
