PURPOSE:

**To consider approving the FY2017 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP); and
**To consider accepting up to $276,156.00 from ONDCP, and appropriating this amount to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor's requirements; and
**To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Since 1988, ONDCP has provided financial assistance to continue the efforts of the multi-agency taskforce targeting high intensity drug areas in DeKalb County.  These funds will be used for overtime salaries, supplies, and equipment to assist the DeKalb Police Officers participating in HIDTA operations.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This grant requires no match contributions.  No positions will be created with this funding. 

Effective Dates: 01/01/2017 to 12/31/2018

Recommended Action

To approve the FY2017 High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP); and To accept $276,156.00 from ONDCP, and appropriate this amount to the grant fund for spending in compliance with the grantor’s requirements; and To authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents.
