PURPOSE:

To appropriate $25,000 from District 2 ARP funding to South Fork Conservancy for the Peavine Creek Restoration Project.

NEED/IMPACT:

The Peavine Creek Restoration Project will restore a section of impaired creekbank near Panera Bread in Emory

Village. For several years, this location has held South Fork Conservancy’s (SFC) rubber duck race that is beloved

by community members. Attention brought to the creek by the annual event raised community interest in repairing

the scoured creekbank. The SFC has designed a restoration plan to protect the bank from further scouring,

increase biodiversity with native plantings and make entering the creek for litter removal safer for volunteers. SFC

will manage this project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

District 2 ARP POETA Account 105744.63258.521209.01.02.602479

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the appropriation of $25,000 from District 2 ARP funding to South Fork Conservancy for the Peavine Creek Restoration Project and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
