PURPOSE:
Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act where “The chief executive shall nominate a person by sending a written notice to the commission,” CEO Thurmond is nominating Ms. Sonia M. Alvarez for appointment to the DeKalb County Board of Health. This is a (6) year term which would begin January 1, 2017 and expire December 31, 2023.
NEED/IMPACT:
Ms. Alvarez-Robinson will serve the DeKalb County Board of Health admirably and as stipulated in O.C.G.A. 31-3-2 (a) (4) would fulfill the requirement of the governing authority of the county “to appoint a consumer, a representative of a consumer, or a person from an advocacy agency or group, which member will represent on the board the county’s consumers of health services.”
