PURPOSE:
To consider the acceptance of additional WIOA Grants funding not to exceed $378,058.41 for employment and training activities for Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth eligible participants in Dekalb County.
NEED/IMPACT:
WorkSource Dekalb received the notification of WIOA Grant Allocations in the amount of $77,950.19 for PY 2019 Adult Programs, $144,207.85 for PY 2019 Youth Program, and $155,900.37 FY 2019 Dislocated Worker Program.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides funding for Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth participants for employment and training activities. The funds will be used to the provided Dekalb County citizens with job search assistance, labor market information, occupational trend information, resume preparation, and assistance identifying employment opportunities available through both online and direct job sites. In addition, funding will be used to provide interest and aptitude assessments and occupational skills training opportunities for WIOA eligible customers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Impact to County funds, 100% Federal Funds - U.S. Department of Labor; no matching required.
