PURPOSE:
To take steps necessary to obtain and maintain through ACCG-IRMA the first responder PTSD insurance that is required by Georgia law.
NEED/IMPACT:
Georgia law requires counties to provide certain insurance to first responders for PTSD. DeKalb County seeks to participate in ACCG-IRMA’s program to provide such insurance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
2025 estimated premium - $346,024.00
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Adopt the attached Resolution authorizing DeKalb County’s participation in the ACCG-IRMA Supplemental Medical, Accident, and Disability fund: First Responder PTSD Program. Authorize the CEO or her designee to sign all documents necessary for DeKalb County to participate in this program.
