PURPOSE:

To consider approving the HUD Urban County Cooperation Agreements for the Cities of Chamblee, Clarkston, Decatur, Doraville, Lithonia, Stonecrest, Stone Mountain, and Tucker. These cities have elected to remain included as a part of the HUD Urban County designation for DeKalb County for the three-year period beginning January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The County is currently in the HUD Urban County requalification period for years 2027 through 2029. During this period, the County must notify each included unit of general local government of it’s right to elect to be included in or excluded from participation in the Urban County Cooperative Agreement during each requalification period.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No Cost to the County

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the HUD Urban County Cooperation Agreements for the Cities of Chamblee, Clarkston, Decatur, Doraville, Lithonia, Stonecrest, Stone Mountain, and Tucker. These cities have elected to remain included as a part of the HUD Urban County designation for DeKalb County for the three-year period beginning January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
