PURPOSE:

1. To execute contracts for Out of School Youth for two (2) year terms to the following:

? Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Inc. - Occupational Training and Employment in the amount of
$757,367.00
? Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Inc. - GED Preparation and Employment in the amount of
$714,122.00
? Center for Pan-Asian Community Services - GED Preparation and Employment in the amount of
$500,000.00
? Paxen, an Eckerd Company - GED Preparation and Employment in the amount of $881,582.00

The total amount for Instruction and Services to Out of School Youth is $2,853,071.00.

2. To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
WorkSource DeKalb Board (WSDB) and WorkSource DeKalb sought qualified organizations to provide instruction and services to out of school youth. As defined by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Out of School Youth are between the ages of 16-24 and are not enrolled in an educational program. Approximately 23% of DeKalb County's population is eighteen (18) years of age or younger, of which 160,724 are identified as being at-risk. The County's school system educates more than 100,000 students within the 137 school and centers.
