PURPOSE:
To provide funding from District 2 ARP POETA Account 105744.63258.521209.01.02.602479 in the amount of $25,000 to the DeKalb Library Foundation.
NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb Library Foundation has traditionally supported mobile hotspots in DeKalb County Libraries. Due to impact in foundational support given COVID-19, assistance is needed for mobile hotspots. The Take the Internet Home with You initiative is an effort to bridge the digital divide for DeKalb County citizens. This gap affects adults looking for jobs, healthcare resources, and other essential services, and it greatly affects the children in DeKalb County who need to stay connected to school resources.

Recommended Action
To approve the appropriation of District 2 ARP Funding in the amount of $25,000 to The DeKalb Library Foundation for mobile hotspots for the Take The Internet Home with You Initiative and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to support this appropriation.
