PURPOSE:

To consider accepting up to $600,000.00 for fiscal year 2026 from the U.S. Justice and U.S. Treasury agencies for drug forfeiture; and to appropriate these funds into the Law Enforcement Confiscated Monies Fund; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The DeKalb County Police Department receives drug forfeiture (equitable share) funds throughout the year from the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Treasury. This agenda item allows for acceptance of these funds for the year 2026.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This allows the Department to accept up to $600,000.00 in the year 2026 as provided by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
