PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the DeKalb County Organizational Act and O.C.G.A. § 31-7-72, CEO Cochran-Johnson nominates Dr. Cole for appointment to Post 9 of the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority (dba Grady Health System) for a term expiring December 31, 2027. Dr. Cole will replace Dr. Karen L. Bennett, who has resigned from the Authority.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority is to address and serve the healthcare needs of the residents of Fulton and DeKalb Counties through partnership with the Grady Health System. The Authority is governed by a ten-member board. Fulton County appoints seven (7) members and DeKalb appoints three (3) members. Dr. Cole is a resident of DeKalb County and has experience as an executive director for a community health clinic.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
