PURPOSE:

Pursuant to subsection n of section 10A of the Organizational Act, establishing the Audit Oversight Committee, the Board of Commissioners appoints two (2) members to the Audit Oversight Committee. The Board of Commissioners hereby nominates Ms. Petrina Bloodworth to Post 4 of the Audit Oversight Committee. The nomination must be confirmed for appointment by majority vote of the Board of Commissioners. This appointment is for a five (5) year term that will expire on December 31, 2029.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Audit Oversight Committee ensures the independence of the County’s audit function. Among other duties, the Audit Oversight Committee is responsible for performing regular evaluations of the audit function, making suggestions and comments for the annual audit plan, and ensuring transmission of audit reports to the governing authority and the public. Ms. Petrina Bloodworth will serve in Post 4 and will replace Mr. Harold Smith, Jr., whose term expired on December 31, 2024. Mr. Smith will continue to serve until Ms. Bloodworth is appointed and qualified.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No cost to the County.
