PURPOSE:

To appropriate $19,000 from the 2024 District 2 Reserve for Appropriations to the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, Inc.?

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, Inc. is working to establish a youth mentorship program at Cross Keys High School in conjunction with the Latin American Association. The “Cuts & Conversations” mentorship program will receive $14,000.  Additionally, 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, Inc will use $5,000 for the 2nd Annual Thomas W. Dortch Jr. Youth Entrepreneurship Pitch competition for middle and high school students.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

$19,000 from the 2024 District 2 Reserve for Appropriations Account

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the appropriation of $19,000 from the 2024 District 2 Reserve for Appropriation to 100 Black Men of DeKalb County, Inc and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
