PURPOSE:
To approve a resolution to appropriate District 2 Federal Coronavirus Relief Fund proceeds assigned to Grant Fund #258, for the purpose of reimbursement for 200 hot spots for 200 DeKalb County residents, providing technology for broadband access within DeKalb County for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
NEED/IMPACT:
Public relief is needed to counter the impact of the Coronavirus. This District 2 CARES ACT Funding from Grant Fund #258, will place resources with the DeKalb Library Foundation, Inc. who will coordinate with DeKalb County Public Library to provide relief and support to residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
200 Verizon hotspots for monthly subscription reimbursement for a Total estimated cost of $69,500.[AW1]
FISCAL IMPACT:
The funding will come from District 2 CARES ACT Funding from Grant Fund #258 and be appropriated via the DeKalb Library Foundation, Inc. to the DeKalb County Public Library as listed in the Resolution.
