PURPOSE:

To accept a grant from the United States Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County in the sum of $699,094

 

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The Magistrate Court of DeKalb County was selected as a recipient of a grant under the Grant to Support Families in the Justice System program (referred to as Justice for All Families Program). The program is designed to improve the response of all aspects of the justice system, both civil and criminal, to families with a history of domestic violence, including dating violence, and stalking. This funding will support the Court’s Protective Order Compliance project which oversees respondents subject to protective orders to ensure the safety of victims of domestic violence. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact - There is no grant match required for the funds to be paid for the grant period October 2017 through September 2020.
