PURPOSE:
To consider accepting a donation in an amount not to exceed $2,900.00 from the County's automobile insurance carrier, American Southern Insurance Company, and $2,900.00 from Marsh Insurance Services, for the purpose of promoting safe operation of County vehicles.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Finance Department, Risk Management Division, has in the past received Board approval to accept these funds to coordinate and conduct the Safe Driver Championship competition. The event, which is planned for September 22-24 2026, will take place at 4550 Greer Circle, Stone Mountain. This friendly competition fosters employee connections across all departments. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers. To participate, drivers must have no at fault crashes over the previous 12 months. The competition incents drivers for demonstrating professionalism in operating county vehicles.
The county's auto insurance carrier and insurance broker offer the funds to help sponsor the event. There are no conditions placed on the donation, other than it being used to defray a portion of the cost of the event.
