PURPOSE:
1. To consider the acceptance of WIOA Grants not to exceed $4,296,378 for employment and training activities
for Adult, Dislocated Workers and Youth eligible participants in DeKalb County.
2. To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
WorkSource Dekalb received the notification of WIOA Grant allocations not to exceed $1,366,139 for PY20 & FY21Adult Program, $1,2161,568 for PY20 & FY21 Dislocated Worker Program, and $1,668,670 for PY20 Youth Program.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides funding for Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth participants for employment and training activities. The funds will be used to provide Dekalb County citizens with job search assistance, labor market information, occupational trend information, resume preparation, and assistance identifying employment opportunities available through both online and direct job sites. In addition, funding will be used to provide interest and aptitude assessments and occupational skills training opportunities for WIOA eligible customers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Impact to County funds, 100% Federal Funds - U.S. Department of Labor; no matching required.
