PURPOSE:

To accept the EcoAddendum, Greenspace Restoration Cohort (Stewardship Invasive Removal Training Program) as a donation to DeKalb County for greenspace restoration, tree care education, and workforce development. To also establish the program within the department’s grant portfolio.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Through this donated program, DeKalb County will receive hands-on invasive species removal and urban forest stewardship services that improve the health and resilience of local greenspaces.  The program also provides workforce development and training opportunities for residents in communities with the greatest need for forestry resources.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The program is funded through grant resources, with $33,884.00 in program value allocated to DeKalb County.  There is no fiscal impact to the County, as all costs associated with implementation are covered by the grant-funded program

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To accept the EcoAddendum Greenspace Restoration Cohort as a donated program to DeKalb County and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents to implement the program.  To also establish the program within the department’s grant management system and proceed with the implementation.
