PURPOSE:

BOC approval for the proposed parking rate increase, at the DeKalb County Courthouse Parking Deck, located at 125 West Trinity Place, Decatur, Ga., Maloof Building parking lot, located at 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, Ga., and Camp Road parking lots, located at 3630 Camp Circle, Decatur, Ga. Currently being managed by Universal Parking Management Services.

NEED/IMPACT:

The parking deck manager that was selected through the RFP process is Universal Parking Management Services. When this contract was approved, it was not made clear to the Commissioners that by approving this contract they were in fact approving the parking rate structure provided in this contract. Since an increase in parking deck or lot rates can only be made by the Commissioners, the rates are being presented to the Commissioners for their review and approval. The projected monthly revenue will be around $47,000.00.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact on the County. The parking deck and parking lots are managed by Universal Parking Management Services. This is a revenue generated contract.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
