PURPOSE:
An Item to Allocate $1,000 of the District 7 Reserve for Appropriation funds to Horizon Over the Spectrum for Sensory- Friendly family programming.
NEED/IMPACT:
Allocating $1,000 from the District 7 Reserve for Appropriations to Horizon Over the Spectrum is important because their sensory-friendly family programming creates inclusive, accessible spaces for children and families with sensory sensitivities, autism, and other neurodiverse needs-groups that are often underserved in traditional community settings. These programs reduce barriers to participation, provide supportive environments where families can engage without stigma, and help children build confidence, social skills, and emotional well-being.
